Ed Valigursky (Oct. 16, 1926 — Sept. 7, 2009)

Valigursky worked primarily in the 1950s and 1960s, although work was published later. He served in the Navy in WWII, and used the GI Bill to study at the Art Institute of Chicago, and later, the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He was the art editor for If magazine in the 1950s, and also did much cover work for Amazing Stories in the late 1950s, as well as Fantastic Adventures. Valigursky did cover art for many novels, working for Bantam Books and Ballantine Books, as well as doing work for Time-Life and Popular Mechanics. He died September 7, 2009 at the age of 82.
