Scott Westerfeld is one of my favorite authors. I first read So Yesterday and was impressed. By the time I read Uglies I was hooked, and couldn't wait for the series to be finished. The same thing happened with the Midnighters series, and was then topped off by Peeps, a vampire book and its companion, The Last Days. Now it's Leviathan, a trilogy of steampunk novels set during World War I but in an alternate universe.
