The Ozark was built by my grandfather, Charles N. "Chick" Grimm, Sr. The forward section of the boat came from the Claude L. Printz. It was supposed to be a twin-screw boat, using the engine and machinery from the Chick Grimm, but when the Chick sunk, Grandpa was left with only one engine, so it became a single-screw boat. Although it was started as early as 1971, the official build date is 1979. It was the last boat he built. In fact, he received the licenses for the Ozark the day he died, May 21, 1980. An image of the Ozark is on his gravestone (see the Misc. Cemetery Photos in the Cemeteries Photo Album.)
