Frances Anne

The Frances Anne was built in 1948 in New Orleans by Alexander Shipyard, Inc. It was a diesel towboat with steel hull and twin props powered by Fairbanks-Morse diesels totaling 3200 hp. It was originally named the Alexander. It was sold in spring 1950 to the Upper Mississippi Towing Corporation of Minneapolis and given the present name in November 1950. Dad piloted this for a short while, August — November, 1970.
