Bill Stile

Twin-screw, stainless-steel hull towboat, built 1957/1958 by St. Louis Shipbuilding & Steel Co. for U. S. Steel, Clairton, PA. Rebuilt 2006, Dunlevy, PA. 120 x 27 x 9. Fairbanks-Morse 38D8-1/2M diesels, total 1280 hp; repowered in 2006 with 2000 hp engines. Originally named S. M. Jenks. Sold 1985 to Campbell Transportation Co., Dunlevy, PA; renamed Bill Stile after long-time senior port engineer and general manager of Campbell's Dunlevy, PA shipyard on the Monngahela.

Dad piloted the Bill Stile for Campbell Transportation Co. in the late 1980s/early 1990s.
