The PowerMac G4 was introduced in August 1999 and was discontinued in June 2004. This model originally retailed for $2499, without the internal Zip 100 drive that was an option. I paid $25 for the CPU and Apple Pro Keyboard at the Michigan State University Surplus Store in the summer of 2010, replacing our B&W G3. I was looking for a faster computer that could still boot into OS 9.
