1924: London Tecumsehs (London, Ontario), Michigan-Ontario League, managed by Desmond "Jack" Beatty. The Tecumsehs finished in fifth place in league standings that year with a W-L of 62-70, a percentage of .470, and 22 games back of the Bay City Wolves. Teams in the league that year were: Bay City Wolves, Flint Vehicles, Grand Rapids Homoners, Kalamazoo Kazoos, Muskegon Anglers, Saginaw Aces, and Hamilton, Ontario Clippers. Gehringer had his major league debut with the Detroit Tigers on September 22, 1924, and played five games that year.

1925: Toronto Maple Leafs, International League, managed by Dan Howley. The Maple Leafs finished in second place behind the Baltimore Orioles, with a record of 99-63. Teams in the league that year were: Baltimore Orioles, Buffalo Bisons, Rochester (NY) Tribe, Syracuse (NY) Stars, Jersey City (NJ) Skeeters, Newark (NJ) Bears, Reading (PA) Keystones and Providence (RI) Grays. Gehringer played in eight games for the Tigers.
